Conservation Field School

At Jack Creek Preserve we believe that everyone has a role in conservation, no matter your age! Our Conservation Field School is where adults get to dive into the world of conservation and learn about a variety of topics! Whether you’re interested in vegetation, animals, or skills, our workshops foster a connection to the natural world so that all Preserve visitors can be inspired to take an active role in conserving wild places and natural resources.

2025 Conservation Field School presents:
LIFELONG LEARNING SERIES

The Lifelong Learning Series is all about staying curious and learning new things! In it’s entirety this series can give participants a glimpse into many aspects of conservation and the natural world.

  • Great question! We are always doing our best to make our programs meaningful and successful. Over the years we noticed a decline in participation in our traditional CFS and an increase in our adult workshops.

In 2025 we made the decision to combine adult and educator workshops under the Conservation Field School name! Now educators can join in our adult workshops and get OPI credits while learning with others who are simply interested in the topic at hand.

Testimonials

Thank you so much for the opportunity to participate in the field day...What an eye opener! It was such an enlightening experience for me. It made me realize how much I have to learn.

I am so grateful to [JCPF] for the work you do to expose people of all ages to the wonders of the world around us.

I always enjoyed my biology classes in school and this workshop made me realize how much I have missed the learning experience back in the classroom...Because of you and the setting and connections you provide, you have reignited a long dormant spark. I am looking forward to pursuing these lifelong learning opportunities and so appreciate you igniting the flame.

They were fantastic teachers and hosts, and I gathered a lot of material that I’m going to take back to my classroom.
